Back in the Saddle

Thanks to my buddy, Chrissy, I'm going to give this Blogger iPhone App another try.

Life has been good. Max is busy, talkative, and into Star Wars. I've got a student teacher, I'm working on my Project GLAD certification, and I'm giving running another chance. Nick is learning to ski, running again, and deep into Game of Thrones. I'll say it again. Life is good.

Halloween v 3.0

Year one he was a jockey, complete with a show pony.

Year two he was a coach from the 70's.

Last year was a big year for us.
Max won the "cutest costume" award from Proctor Metro Market.
To say there was a little pressure this year is an understatement.

So, we decided to go with Pete Carroll.

I think he nailed it.
Unfortunately he refused to wear the headset when taking his photo for the contest.
Ugh.
Without the headset he's just a cute boy in an over-sized sweatshirt and stupid khaki pants.
And I was his pageant mom.
I even bribed him with a cookie.
No dice.
No headset.
We'll get 'em next year.
If they want glitz, we'll give 'em glitz.

Max did enjoy handing out treats to the trick-or-treaters.

Happy happy Halloween!

You go, boy

Zero accidents today.
One big poo on the potty.
Still watching cat videos.

He's still wearing a diaper during naps and at night but he's often waking up dry.
Seriously, we can't take any credit for this.
This is so Max.

He got in an argument with Neenie when she called him a big boy.
"I little. Neenie's big. I little."
You can't argue with that kind of reasoning.

Today stunk

I had a bad day but the following conversation perked me up.

Me: "What's Max up to?"
Nick: "He's watching cat videos on You Tube."

This was his favorite video in case you're into cats as well.

I guess we know what to ask Santa for:

Again, iPads rock potty training.
2 accidents today.
Oh, well.

Potty Talk

We started our adventure in potty training this weekend.

Our first task was to buy some uns.

Carter's had some pretty sweet boxer briefs and the Justice League pack was from Target.

We decided to go cold turkey.
No pull-ups, no training pants, no nothing.
First thing Saturday morning we put him in some underwear.
It was a new experience for sure.

We had two accidents that day and spent a lot of time in the bathroom.
Thank goodness for iphones.
We watched this video of his friend, Annie, over and over again.

We tried not to leave the house.
We just lounged around without pants.

On Sunday he had one accident.
And one poop on the potty.
He was pretty excited to share the news with Ruby.

He had one accident at Neenie's today.
He explained to her that he only pottied at home.
I can picture the future us picking the future Max up from a friend's house to take him home to poop.

Oh, well.
Max, you make this look easy.
Stop making us look so good.
